Choose the right label material

Match your label to its packaging and intended use. Our short-run in-house labels use dye ink and are not laminated.

Paper · Dry indoor packaging

Retail boxes, paper bags, gifts and dry room-temperature products. Matte gives a softer finish; gloss gives bright retail graphics.

BOPP · Bottles, jars & refrigerated packaging

White or clear polypropylene film for beverages, cosmetics and refrigerated containers. Apply to clean, dry packaging before chilling.

Polyester · Durable indoor identification

A tougher base than paper for product identification, smooth glass or metal containers and indoor equipment labels.

Outdoor & specialty labels

Sunlight and weather need outdoor vinyl or polyester with a compatible outdoor print system. Freezer, chemical and dishwasher exposure require a construction specifically rated for that use.

Ink & application guide

Dye · Our in-house option

Bright color for indoor packaging. Dye prints can fade in sunlight. Standard short-run dye labels are not offered for outdoor, freezer, chemical or dishwasher use.

Pigment · How it differs

Pigment generally improves light resistance, but does not make every label weatherproof. It is not part of our standard in-house offering. Ask for outdoor-rated or specialty labels when your application needs them.
